Overview
Dudley College is located in a small market town in the heart of England. Beautiful countryside, sites of cultural and historical interest are all within easy reach of Dudley. The town itself has plenty to offer: cinemas, bowling, clubs and pubs, and exciting shopping in the Merryhill Centre, one of the largest of its kind in Europe. Birmingham, England’s second city, is within 20 minutes’ travelling and London is only two hours away. The College is a large Government-funded further education institute, with over 6,000 full-time students. Each year we welcome over 500 international students from all corners of the world, creating a diverse and exciting international community.
Facilities A wide range of learning support systems are offered, designed to make studying at Dudley College both easy and enjoyable. These include the resource-based learning centre with over 100 computers and free Internet access, and a modern well-equipped library holding over 40,000 volumes including international periodicals.
In addition to its academic provision, Dudley College offers the services of a British Councilaccredited language centre, Lexis, where students of all levels of competence can improve their English language skills and prepare themselves for the IELTS examination.
Accommodation When studying far from home, finding the right place to live is very important. At Dudley the accommodation team tries continuously to meet the individual needs of our overseas guests.Living with a local family in homestay is a very popular choice for international students, and Dudley College has an excellent track record in the provision of this type of accommodation. For those who prefer more independence, the College has several self-catering halls of residence, all within five minutes’ walk of the College.
Student life Student life at Dudley can be as active or as quiet as you like. Our award-winning International Office runs a wide-ranging social and pastoral support programme, with trips run to all parts of the United Kingdom, and student parties designed to give you, our guest, the chance to meet new people from all over the world. Recent destinations to which the College has arranged visits include London, Paris and Barcelona, as well as other British universities. The College runs a full programme of activities throughout the academic year, from football to volleyball, squash to snooker, photography to fashion, even windsurfing and archaeology.
