Supportive staff An international student is faced with having to adapt to a completely new environment, but the international officers at GCC were so supportive, especially in times when I had financial difficulties.
Rewarding experience The past two years has been challenging and rewarding. I had opportunities to travel to the Bath Museum, Clotheshow Live at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham and to Paris, my dream city - all this sponsored by the College. The College was like a second home to me, with something creative to do every day, and I exhibited some of my work at the GCC Fashion Show in July 2006. With the help of my tutors I have been able to achieve a lot and I will surely miss them.

Niyi was a runner-up in the British Council’s ’Shine International Student Awards’ in 2004/05. On GCC’s international student committee he has been active in promoting students’ welfare and improving services for next year’s students. He has also edited the Globe student magazine for the last two years. He has excelled in his chosen course of study and is now progressing to Westminster University to study a BSc in Biochemistry.
No regrets Studying at a college in London has been a delightful part of my academic life. I chose Greenwich Community College in preference to a number of other colleges in the London area and have no regrets about my decision. The learning environment at the College prepares you for a quality higher education.
Constant support I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge as an international student at GCC, and for this I owe much to the international office. They have helped me from the time I applied right through the duration of my A-level course, providing course information, induction and a host of other valuable services including workshops on how to develop your cv and build your career.
