My first impressions of NTIC were very good. The campus is lively, the atmosphere is good and people really work together. You meet new people every day. My programme has given me an introduction to the UK education system, which is totally different from the system in Guinea. It gives you time to adapt yourself ready for university studies. For example, in the UK you have homework and individual research to be done in your own time, but you also have a wide range of research materials, including databases and online resources which you are taught how to make the most of. I am proud of my work, especially the way I handled the business course.

Learning support

The tutors are very nice people and during the lectures they really give you something to think about. My Learning Support Tutor checks to make sure everything is going as it should: for example, if I’m studying properly, if I am well, how my accommodation is and whether I am in contact with my parents. Studying at NTIC has changed my life by improving my future – and a degree from Nottingham Business School will be great for my business career.

NTIC has been a source of hope for me. It has brightened my future. It has changed my life in so many ways.

During school time back in Nigeria, I didn’t have time to research and go through books. But NTIC has taught me how to concentrate on my studies, for example by learning about all the different rules of English, all the grammar. My approach to academic life has totally changed. I am very proud of the work I do here, especially my programming classes. This is the first time I have studied computing. At first it wasn’t easy, but now I can confidently use a computer, research on my laptop, everything.

Committed teachers

My favourite teacher is Keith. Any time I have study problems, I take them to him and he really encourages and reassures me. He organises me, gives me homework assignments, makes time to see me. He even helps me when I have a personal question. I believe that the tutors here at NTIC are committed to a high standard, and you can go a long way in your studies here. I keep on telling people about this college, and in fact in September I have three friends coming!
