Your future career
If you want to study at a university that will help you achieve your career aspirations, Nottingham Trent University has strong and extensive links with more than 6,000 employers around the world.
This helps to explain why we are rated number 1 among universities in England and Wales for the employability of our graduates (HESA Destination of Leavers HE survey 2005).
Companies we work with include:
- Microsoft
- BP
- CN
- Siemens
- AstraZeneca
- Toyota
Our partners regularly tell us that our courses provide graduates with an impressive combination of knowledge and skills that can be directly and usefully applied in the workplace. In short, employers find the graduates they are looking for at NTU.
Work Placements
We provide a wide range of opportunities for paid work placements and practical internships for our undergraduate and postgraduate students.
We are proud to be in the top three Universities in the UK for year long work placements, and the number one in Architecture, Art and Design and Law.
We try to offer most of our students the opportunity to get some real-world experience as part of their studies. In some cases this can be a one year work placement, such as our undergraduate Business courses. In other areas, like journalism for example, all postgraduate students are expected to undertake short work placements with organisations such as the BBC, Sky television and CNN.
We have also pioneered the introduction of paid internships and placements at postgraduate level. Computing students can expect to work for up to one year within their Masters degree, some in prestigious companies such as Jagex or BNP Paribas.
Our new MSc in Economics and Finance also offers students the option of a paid three month intensive work placement.
Many of our partner employers consider the work placement as an extended interview. There are numerous examples of students who have been offered a full-time career opening as a direct result of their work placement.
