MA International Management, RBS London Country of origin: UK
Study history Christian David-Griffiths is from the UK but has lived abroad for much of his life, attending a number of international schools. He joined RBS London as an undergraduate student in 1998, with A-levels in business, design and computer science, and graduated with a BA (Hons) International Business. He then enrolled on a graduate training programme with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, before following RBS London’s Master’s programme.
Competitive edge RBS London sets the international dimensions required to succeed in global business. It’s like a global village, with a family atmosphere, encouraging cross-cultural awareness. The School puts great emphasis on experiential learning that prepares you for employment. I found this put me at an advantage when applying for jobs, compared to candidates from other institutions.
Motivation I was attracted to come back to RBS London to do a Master’s for a couple of reasons: the specialisation of the course in entrepreneurship, and the opportunity to top up my programme with a Webster University MBA.
Up for the challenge This Master’s programme has been both challenging and fun, and I have enjoyed a number of additional activities outside the curriculum. In our first semester, a group of us entered the Universities Business Challenge sponsored by IBM. This was an outstanding experience, where the pressure of working under time constraints was combined with harnessing the strengths of all the team members to make an efficient group. It is an excellent addition to my CV and has been a useful talking point at interviews.
