Aligba Christian Oseobhio, MSc International Business, Graduated in 2005
“Choosing a school that would prepare me to be an innovative and an entrepreneurial leader in a global business environment involved a detailed selection process which led to The Robert Gordon University as the best choice.”
Before commencing his postgraduate programme at RGU, Aligba Christian Oseobhio was employed as a sales representative in his native Nigeria. However, his ambition was to work in the international arena, prior to establishing his own visionary company.
“I’ve always envisioned managing cross-culturally in the global business environment,” explains Aligba. “Although I come from a scientific background, experience has fuelled my desire to pursue a global business career. My decision to study at The Robert Gordon University was shaped by the resplendent location coupled with the international context of the programme.
“The state-of-the-art facilities at the Aberdeen Business School are second to none and the quality of teaching was superb. At RGU, education is personalised and supportive, encouraging students to reach their maximum academic potential. Most of the modules are taught in small, tutorial-style classes that help students gain a better understanding of their course content. I was truly impressed.
“The support services are just as remarkable. RGU people are friendly and very sociable and there is a real commitment to help students meet academic and personal challenges. Difficult situations can be discussed and resolved with complete confidentiality. “Studying at RGU has made an indelible mark on me. It offers a lifestyle that is unique and an excellent education in an international context. I would recommend it to anyone and I know that the prestigious MSc degree will open doors for me in my career.”
Aligba Christian Oseobhio is now working as a Business Analyst for Shell under the Graduate Trainee Programme. “I will spend my first three years in the different departments understanding the business operations of the company and I will travelling frequently and be based in different Shell offices overseas.
My practical-based MSc International Business degree has helped me tremendously in clinching this job and armed me with the academic knowledge needed. The Scottish Talent scheme is useful and beneficial to international students like myself who are keen to explore career opportunities in Scotland and is also a strategic move by the Scottish Executive to attract and retain overseas talents in Scotland”.
