University of Gloucestershire

Study UK - University of GloucestershireThe University of Gloucestershire is a medium-sized university in the southwest region of the UK. It has a student population of almost 10,000 students spread across four main campuses in the Regency town of Cheltenham (population 110,000) and the historic city of Gloucester.

Take a look at our website for more information www.glos.ac.uk

Our relatively small size means that students can expect a personal service and friendly atmosphere – they are not lost in a crowd.

The University of Gloucestershire is delighted to welcome students from all over the world to study and become an integral part of our university community. The University has students from 28 countries studying on a range of programmes from English language courses to undergraduate, taught postgraduate and PhD programmes.

Entry requirements
We will consider qualifications from any country and measure them against the British equivalents. We will also take into account any relevant work experience you may have or any professional or other courses you have studied.

Study programmes
The University offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in subjects including : art, media and design, business, environmental management, multimedia, hospitality, tourism and teaching. Examples include: photojournalism, broadcast journalism, media and music management, illustration, print journalism, adventure leisure management, interactive games design, marketing advertising and communications, sports tourism management, religion philosophy and ethics, creative writing, and environmental sciences.

Many courses have a strong vocational focus, which allows our students to gain both academic knowledge as well as technical and practical experience. Undergraduate degrees are structured through individual modules, and with more than 1000 modules to choose from, this gives some flexibility and allows study programmes to be as individual as required. The modular structure of courses allows students to select courses that can reflect individual interests and career aspirations. Take a look at our website for a comprehensive listing of our courses and modules.

Student life
The Students’ Union is proud of its many active societies and encourages as many students as possible to join in. There are lots of activities on offer, from a thriving music scene with club nights to organised film nights, as well as over 40 sports clubs to join.

Our social programme for international students also gives students the opportunity to meet other international and home students, to participate in excursions to both local places of interest and further afield, as well as introducing local culture and customs.

Accommodation
The accommodation team provides and manages a wide range of student accommodation, including Halls of Residence and a database of private sector flats, houses and lodgings in the community. New international students have priority for rooms in Halls of Residence with the majority of halls located on or near to the campuses, and with en-suite bathrooms and broadband Internet access available.
