The UK Experience @ the University of Surrey
The choice of programme and university
I believe, to make a person desirable on the employability and performance scales, a well-balanced combination of skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications is necessary. And that is why I chose the MBA programme at University of Surrey instead of the alternative offers I had from 7 other UK universities.
The Management School at Surrey has worldwide recognition in addition to the wider scope of opportunities and resources it offers. To impart the highest quality knowledge and education to every student, the University of Surrey provides frontline technology and research sources like 24 hour free internet, academic books and free links to several online databases, journals and publications. I have found Surrey always aimed at delivering the best quality insights and knowledge by using every means of communication like U-learn (an online study portal and discussion board), assignments, tutorials, study group workshops, Powerpoint presentations, action cases, famous guest speakers, business games and the unique, synoptic examination. MBA @ Surrey The minimum entry requirements of degree level, English language skills and 3 years work experience ensures an experienced and professional group of people study the MBA at Surrey. My class was a rare combination, being truly international it represented almost 15 countries between just 40 classmates and tutors. The main advantage was created by this diversity of different qualifications, experience, cultures and languages in the learning process. At the end of the course, it created lifelong relationships like brothers and sisters or business partners.
The course was very demanding on my time and energy as afternoons, evenings and weekends were all spent doing group work and assignments. Despite the hard work, we still got the chance to socialise and have thousand of memories and photographs to share. The Future The year that I spent on the MBA at the University of Surrey, has become one of the most important chapters of my life and a real turning point. In one year, I learnt more than I did in the previous 10 years! I now re-enter the professional world above the position I was in before and my vision has broadened beyond its previous limits. It was also at Surrey that my interest in Strategy and Research developed, so much so that I intend to do PhD in corporate strategy.
The course has completely changed my career plans. I am now in the process of publishing my own research and launching a company in UK with my friends from different cultures, qualifications and countries who I have met during my time at Surrey.
Go for it My advice to the aspiring pool of students would be that a degree from the UK is a great achievement which will bring a great sense of accomplishment to any student. Learning to manage oneself, study and work with colleagues all at once, within time lines, will be the key to further success.
There are plenty of things to do, to learn and to deliver during the course of study. Meeting people from different age ranges, professions and backgrounds not only gives you a degree from University but also an education and memories to cherish for a lifetime. Whatsoever may be the cost of doing it, if you can derive the real value out if it then you will be proud of it in the future.
